Registration, Payment, and Course FAQ's

Does taking your course fulfill the New York State requirements?
Yes. We are an approved provider authorized by the New York State Department of Education. If you are required to take either the School Violence Prevention and Intervention Workshop or the Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect Workshop, our course meets the requirement.
What is the timer at the top of the each page for?
There is a timer that records time spent per chapter and a second timer that records total time for the course. The State of New York requires that you must spend at least two hours on the course. In addition, each chapter has a minimum time requirement.
Do I have to complete the course in one session or within a certain period of time?
No. Log on and off as many times as you wish. The timer feature keeps track of both total time and time spent on each chapter regardless of how many times you log off and log back in. You may take as long as you wish to complete the course.
What is the official certificate and what do I do with it?
Once you complete the course, you may print your own certificate or request that it be mailed to you if you do not have a printer. Fill in the rest of your personal information, including your SSN and date of birth, and sign and date the certificate. You must mail the top "official" document to the state along with or following your license/certification application. The bottom (yellow) document is the "customer copy" and you must keep that. If an employer requests a copy, make a photocopy of your copy for them. Only the State of New York requires an original copy. Please keep your copy in a safe place.
Is there an exam for completion of the course?
Yes. It is a multiple-choice test that is not graded. Although there is no passing grade, please note that all questions must be answered.
When do I receive my certificate?
Once you complete the course, if you choose to not print your own certificate, your certificate will be mailed and you will receive it in 7 to 10 business days. The actual delivery time is dependent on your location and the postal service. If there is any problem with your address, we will contact you by phone to resolve it.
What do I do with my certificate?
Complete instructions are enclosed with the certificate. You must write your social security number and date of birth on your certificate BEFORE mailing a copy to the State of New York.
Do I have to send anything back to you?
No. Do not send anything back to us. You only need to send the certificate to the state.
I have lost my certificate. What can I do?
Log back into the course and either print another certificate or request a mailed certificate.
PLEASE NOTE: Because there are thousands of possible combinations of computers, operating systems and browsers, users may encounter issues that are unique to their own set up.
What computers and browsers work with the course?
We support all versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 and above. We also support FireFox, Mozilla, Opera on both Windows and Apple computers. We also support Safari for the Apple. AOL users must have AOL 8.0 or higher. Cookies must be enabled in your browser.
The page did not load completely.
Click the "Refresh" option on your browser, typically located at the top of your browser.
The course timer has stopped.
The timer runs while viewing any of the chapters, but not on the Table of Contents page. If the timer is stalled while viewing a chapter, click the "Refresh" button on your browser to reload the page. If that does not work, try reloading the page by clicking on another chapter and then returning to the chapter you were reading.
I have forgotten my password, or my password is not working.
Make sure you are entering your password exactly as you entered it. Upper and lower case letters must be used in the same places as when you created your password. From the login screen, click on the "Forgot your password? Click here" link and your password will emailed to you. If you do not get an email within 20 minutes, check your junk mail folder. If you have spam blocking turned on, disable it, and request your password again.
I have read the support / questions page, but still require assistance. How may I contact you?

Email is the preferred and quickest way for our help desk to assist you further. You may also contact us by postal mail or phone.
